Governor Highlights Workforce Alliance’s Role in High Quality Business Recruitment and Retention

Governor Rick Scott and Workforce Florida President and CEO Chris Hart recognized Workforce Alliance’s role in attracting high quality companies to our region at a media conference held June 3 at Digital Risk, the nation’s largest provider of mortgage risk and compliance management solutions located in Boca Raton. Workforce Alliance staff worked with the Business Development Board to relocate the company to Palm Beach County against competing locations in other states.

Steve Craig, Workforce Alliance president and CEO, said, “Our work with the Business Development Board in helping to secure Digital Risk’s relocation to Palm Beach County showcases our ability to attract and fill high-wage, high-quality positions. An important part of Digital Risk’s relocation criteria was dependent upon the strength and quality of the referred candidates from Workforce Alliance. The speed of our response and the number of qualified candidates exceeded their expectations.”

The Governor also highlighted the effectiveness of the nationally recognized Quick Response Training (QRT) program in attracting companies like Digital Risk to our state. Funding for the program was doubled this year to $12 million, a legislative priority for the Governor for continued economic and job growth. The performance-based program provides customized training, through partial reimbursement, for new employees at new or expanding businesses.

The QRT program is helping Digital Risk add 1,000 new, high-skill, high-wage jobs at its locations throughout Florida, including Boca Raton. On average, workers receiving training supported by the grant program experience a wage increase of nearly 30 percent due to their enhanced skills and productivity.
