IWDI Technical Skills Training Grant

The Infotech Workforce Development Initiative is developing a proposal for a Technical Skills Training Grant from the U.S. Department of Labor. Money from this grant will help train American workers to meet the demand for highly skilled information technology occupations. Typically, these positions are filled with H-1B visa holders. The grant award could provide up to:
  • $5 million in IT training funds to our region over four years
  • 100 percent of the costs associated with training
Trainees’ salaries during training would be considered “in-kind” leverage for the grant proposal.
