Welcome to the Workforce Alliance's Resource Development page. Our goal is to develop the resources needed to create and sustain a workforce that has the education, knowledge and skills required by Palm Beach County employers.

GRANTS OVERVIEW

We search and apply for grants to provide education, skills training, and work readiness training and certification, with an emphasis on responding to the needs of high growth industries such as biotechnology, customer service and manufacturing.  Continuous emphasis on preparing entry level workers and upgrading the skills of employed workers assures that Palm Beach County will be widely regarded as a valued venue for business growth, development, and relocation.

Who do we train? Pre-employment and on-the-job training is provided for youth, entry level workers, employees who need to upgrade their skills to retain employment or advance in their careers, displaced or dislocated workers, college-education professionals, and populations with special needs. 

HIGHLIGHTED GRANT

Our Biotechnology Training Grant, in effect from 2004 to December 31, 2007, was funded through the President's High Growth Job Training Initiative. It provides professionals holding a BS degree in math or science the opportunity to earn a one-year biotechnology certificate. A summary of the grant can be found in the NEWS ROOM of this web site. 

COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS

Workforce Alliance routinely partners with community organizations to develop and implement grant-funded projects.  Our partners include community-and faith-based organizations, schools, businesses, and non-profit organizations.

Workforce Alliance initiates some partnerships, while community organizations initiate others.  Depending upon the specific grant opportunity, Workforce Alliance can provide assistance with grant writing, project management and staffing, project design and implementation, fiscal and programmatic management, as well as evaluation services.
