West Palm Beach, Florida – March 17, 2009 -- As the Florida Legislature makes decisions regarding the allocation of stimulus funds resulting from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, Workforce Alliance is in the planning stages for maximizing the dollars it will eventually receive for the benefit of job creation, job retention and economic progress in Palm Beach County. Workforce Alliance President and CEO, Kathryn Schmidt, said, “As the workforce solution driving economic growth in Palm Beach County, Workforce Alliance is discussing internally how the additional funds will impact and expand our present operations. I anticipate that the stimulus funding will be applied to allowable adult and youth workforce programs and other applications that will contribute to the economic recovery of our County.
“As the funds are made available, we will continue to lead the way for the County in enacting programs and securing funding to benefit employers looking for skilled and qualified employees. Our advice to employers at this time is for them to analyze their current and anticipated needs for employee attraction and retention training as well as proposals for funded internship positions to enhance their own competitive position in the marketplace.”
Employers can obtain additional information regarding Workforce Alliance programs and list their open positions at no cost at the Alliance’s website, www.pbcalliance.com, or by calling 561-340-1060 and ask for a business services representative.
